We finally put away our tree and all the accompanying decorations, and now I’m looking around our home and feeling like I need to add some life to it. Bring on the plants! Now, anyone who knows me, knows that I do not have a green thumb. However, friends of ours gave us a money tree when we moved in 5 years ago, and somehow it is magically thriving. I love what it adds to our home and I’m ready for more! A bonus is that plants also increase the air quality in the home, which is very important when the windows are shut for months on end.
I am sitting here, recovering from eating way too many cookies, listening to the boys playing nicely together (this is a treat!) and thinking about what my goals are for this new year. I’ve had some time to reflect on where I want to go professionally and personally and I would like to put it in writing to keep me on track. I’m a huge believer in putting things out into the universe – so here it goes!
I love this time of year! I find myself staying up later because our living room is so cozy. We keep things fairly simple around here. We have a nice tree we take out every year and we deck it out with memory-filled ornaments. It’s not a designer tree by any means but I love seeing the kids (husband included), discover their favourite ornaments every year.
So now that it gets dark at 5 o’clock it’s time to think lighting! There’s nothing like the warm glow from lighting placed strategically around a room.
One of my favourite ways to spice up a room is a great table lamp. They are not only functional, but beautiful too! I’ve rounded up a few of my fav table lamps that I’ve come across in my browsing lately.
With the cooler fall weather here to stay, I would like to share a few easy changes that I make (or need to make) around my home to get it all cozy.
